In life, there’s really never any reason not to do your best. I mean why not, right? If you’re gonna do something, what purpose could not doing your best possibly serve? But in day to day existence, we usually forget this simplicity. We get complacent. We need reminding.

That’s why, plain and simple, people love sports.

As depressing as it is, the Iraq war will not be the location of the Bush teams most historic blunder. It will be in and around Afghanistan. Finishing the job there was an attainable goal, and one that would have made us markedly safer, given us a better standing in the world, and shifted the course of one of the world’s ugliest histories.

It’s not the war we got into, it’s the war we abandoned.
