Neighborhoodlum

Think you live nextdoor to the biggest nightmare neighbor one could imagine?

Think again…

Roscoe

Can a successful career, athletic talent, fame, fortune and international recognition help one avoid the inevitabilities associated with the first name Roscoe?

In the end, no…

I-boons

It’s looking like iTunes may have helped more folks discover The Office on NBC as their ratings have been going up.

More ways to access content equals more viewers for that content. Who’d a thunk it?

On a related note, if The Office were on for fifteen hours straight every day of the week, I’d never miss a second of it.

Plantation Politics

When you go to a church in Harlem and compare your political opponents to plantation owners, I’m pretty sure that qualifies as pandering.

That’s just what Hillary pulled in NY on MLK day by dropping the following: “[The House] has been run like a plantation, and you know what I’m talking about.”

Um, they might know what she’s talking about, although Harlem was never a central locale in the plantation business. And, um, they might know what she means, but I’m guessing that the image that comes to mind is a slave master with a whip as opposed to rich white people refusing to listen to each other in a considerate manner. Um, I suppose they know what she’s talking about, after all you coldn’t run a plantation without manure and apparently the same is true when it comes to a political campaign.

Oh, who are we kidding. They know what she means. She means the elections of 2006 and 2008 are on and things are about to get pathetic.

I’m surprised Hillary didn’t break into a rap.

Meanwhile, Al Gore is taking on the administration on the eavesdropping case: “The president of the United States has been breaking the law repeatedly and insistently. A president who breaks the law is a threat to the very structure of our government.”

He may be right, but this eavesdropping issue will not be a winning one at the polls. If the GOP could make Kerry look like a pacifist wimp compared to W, how hard will it be for them to position an opposition to eavesdropping as being soft on terrorism?

So here we are, with the election cycle about to swing into election high gear, and the names we’re hearing from on the Left are Clinton and Gore.

Have we Dems moved forward at all since recent defeats? Doesn’t this sort of feel like the party is being run like a plantation (too much tenure for the folks in charge…).

Brangelina Meets Davegina

Should it disturb me that my wife’s pregnancy is running neck and stomach with the one just anounced by Brad and Angelina?

My wife is chronicling our co-couple adventures on her blog.

I guess I can see some parallels. But only when it comes to my wife. I’m a little closer to Gandolfini than Pitt. Ah, life in the limelight.

Help Firefox Pixel Madness

There’s another dollars for pixels page up on the web. This one is looking to raise a million bucks toward Firefox development. Very cool.

Update: Now this site is down. Hope I wasn’t duped along with many others?
