Think you’ve got a pretty good handle on the whole torture debate? You may need to think again.

I suppose it’s only a little surprising that a majority of those polled (even in the U.S.) approve of torture:

Most Americans and a majority of people in Britain, France and South Korea say torturing terrorism suspects is justified at least in rare instances, according to AP-Ipsos polling.

Does anyone else find almost every poll of the public to be utterly depressing?

Wait, don’t answer that. Your answer will probably shock me on the downside.
