Out of the Woodward
Here’s the thing about Woodward’s outing of his own role in the Plame leak story:
For many months, Woody has been going on Larry King and other shows and way downplaying the significance of the whole story. There was no risk to the CIA, Wilson’s wife was not really that far undercover, and this was no big deal like Watergate.
But the whole time he knew he was a part of this story. Forget about all of the other issues of journalistic integrity and Woodward’s close proximity to power.
How could he have issued strong opinions on a matter without telling us he was connected to it in some way?
