Bay Area residents are all quite familiar with Frys Electronics and their radio ad slogan, “Your best buys are always at Frys.”
The marketing works. Frys has about 20 cash registers by the front door and they are all clicking all the time. I like to think of it as the Capitalist Concerto.
Frys managed to apply the same simple marketing during a recent radio commercial in which they were pushing TiVo.
The ad: Replace your VCR. Tivo knows what to record and when to record it.
Wow, imagine how the last few years of competition in the PVR space would have rolled out if TiVo had come up with a sales pitch that simple and used it themselves.
