Dickless: W Without Cheney?

There are cracks where there were none inside the Bush world, even between the Oval Office and the man behind the curtain:

The vice president remains Bush’s most trusted political confidant. Even so, the Daily News has learned Bush has told associates Cheney was overly involved in intelligence issues in the runup to the Iraq war that have been seized on by Bush critics.

Here is a moment to consider. From all accounts, Bush did not take Cheney’s advice (or even ask for it necessarily) when it came to the disastrous Miers selection.

Was this the first outward sign that the trust Bush has for Cheney had turned south?

Think about it. Cheney essentially selected himself as Veep. He was the key driver behind the shift of focus from Al Qaeda to Iraq. He was the force behind connecting Saddam and the image of a mushroom cloud.

What would be worse if you’re W. To have been in the plot or to have been left out of it?

Concentration is important!
