The Pledge of Allegiance case is back on in a big way.
I think it’s pretty clear that we should remove the word god from the Pledge and everywhere else it appears in government sponsored public life. Of course, I am in the goddamn minority on that one.
Here’s the interesting political shell game angle. Right now, Bush is struggling in terms of his poll numbers. This is the kind of near-meaningless dispute that he and his can pump up to fire up their base.
So the timing on this one might be just right for those on the wrong side of the latest judicial decision.
Of course, most Dems feel the same way as W does about this issue (at least publicly), but that never stopped anyone from scoring a political win now did it?
