Starbucks has reportedly backed off from a deal to sell Bruce Springsteen’s latest CD in their stores.
Why? If you’ve been paying attention, you know why. The lyrics are too racy. Seems strange to imagine Starbucks complaining that something is too hot and steamy for their shops.
I have mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, I don’t like to see art distribution limited because of a few suggestive lyrics. On the other hand, man am I relieved that people won’t be picking up a Springsteen disc at a friggin coffee chain outlet.
Isn’t it bad enough that Ashbury Park is the new Hamptons?
