Jumping Box

Thomas Hawk provides a rundown of the details from the latest TiVo conference call. One of the key highlights is TiVo’s plan to focus more on getting content portable and creating a TiVo branded experience on the PC.

Given that the company didn’t gain enough of an advantage as an early mover and now faces the cable and satellite companies home-brewed solutions, it makes sense to make a run for the other box. And TiVo users are early adopters in terms of TV usage, so there’s a decent chance they’d be the kinds of folks who would try something that merges TV and the PC.
