An Hour and Twenty Four Years

It took a jury just under an hour to convinct Michael Williams of beating and sexually assualting his math tutor in Lousiana.

It took 24 years (during which he was serving a life sentence in the Louisiana State Pen, performing hard labor and on one occasion, getting stabbed 16 times) for independent DNA tests from three different labs to show that Michael Williams was innocent.

Something tells me there won’t be a private plane bound for Bedford waiting for him upon release.

According to the Innocence Project, Williams is the 159th person exonerated by DNA evidence.
