Never Too Soon to Start the Filibuster

I should begin by explaining that the following is neither a story from The Onion nor a transparent attempt by media consultants to distract us from the Bernie Kerik story – which is one Ford Bronco away from hitting the big time.

An Alabama judge is refusing to make any changes to his courtroom attire. At issue is the fact that he has the ten commandments embroidered in gold lettering on the front of his robe.

In denying a lawyer’s request that he change robes, Judge McKathan of Montgomery explained that, “The ten commandments can help a judge know the difference between right and wrong.” He added, “I had a choice of several sizes of letters. I purposely chose a size that would not be in anybody’s face.”

I wonder how those gold letters would look embroidered on a straight jacket?

Concentration is important!
