Shareholders: You’re Fired

The Donald chimes in on the declaration of bankruptcy by his Atlantic City Casinos.

“I don’t think it’s a failure, it’s a success.”

Hey, in a way, Trump achieved the unprecedented. When was the last time you heard of the house losing?

When I was just out of college, I emptied my bank account to take my dad from Manhattan (where I was living at the time) to Trump’s Taj Majal via helicopter. We arrived at the hotel to find that our suite had a heart-shaped tub and a mirrored ceiling.

Eschewing the romantic possibilities, my dad and I hit the craps tables. And we couldn’t lose. By the end of the weekend, we had paid for the entire trip and still had plenty of dough to distribute to my mom and sister who were waiting back in the Apple.

It was one of our great weekends. I felt like a winner. Looking back, I had no idea that Trump considered this a success for the Taj. Damn, we should’ve gone back more often. I liked the winning, and honestly, I haven’t really been satisfied in a rectangular-shaped tub since.

Concentration is important!
