Dropping the Towel

The FCC has networks nervous. That’s especially true when it comes the the network’s coverage of the NFL as it is tied to the wardrobe malfunction that shocked a nation.

So it’s not too surprising that the NFL and ABC were quick to offer their apolgoies for an MNF pregame caper aired to market Desperate Housewives. In the bit, Nicollette Sheridan drops a towel (you could see her back) and jumps into the arms of Terrell Owens (causing deep distress to 49er fans).

It’s a bit unclear who could’ve been offended. I mean, I don’t think a lot of teenaged boys are hankering for Nicollette Sheridan on ABC when they’ve got the pick of their peers on MTV.

Meanwhile, the NFL didn’t see fit to apologize for the three hours following the Desperate promo during which grown men were paid millions of dollars to violently smash into each other.

Concentration is important!
