We Don’t Need No Stinking Context
At what point does it become clear that a campaign just doesn’t give a damn that everyone and anyone knows that they’re taking a quote out of context? Well, here’s a possible answer to that question: When they reduce an 8,000 word article on the most complex issue of our times to one word – yes one word. Bush openly quoted Kerry using a one word sampling.
He told his crowd:
“Just this weekend, Sen. Kerry talked of reducing terrorism to, quote, nuisance, end quote.”
At least he could’ve said “A nuisance.”
