Hey, if we can pick an American Idol winner without too much controversy, we should be able to pick a president. Don’t you think?
Well, most Americans are pretty worried that we can’t. More than sixty percent of those polled are worried that we will not have a clear winner by the end of the day on November 3rd. Some think we are destined for another court challenge. Others think Ohio will be next Florida. Will it be an electronic voting system gone haywire, a butterfly ballot snafu, or will we be once again had by a hanging chad?
With these public perceptions, will any outright win, no matter how small the margin, be viewed as some sort of shocking and sweeping mandate?
