Somewhere Less Conservative, Like Spain

The Spanish government is moving closer to legalizing same-sex marriage and adoption by gay couples. And we’re not just talking about the Gaudy streets of Barcelona or the beaches of Sitges. This is all of Spain.

Imagine someone telling you that during the week the government of Spain was proactively moving towards legalizing gay marriage, a large segment of the U.S. government would be trying anything and everything to pre-emptively criminalize it.

The Spanish Bishops Conference released this statement: “If this legislation goes ahead, we would be abandoning the legal and human wisdom of all humanity.”

I haven’t heard that kind of a rhetoric since the Nick and Jessica reality show first came on the air.

Concentration is important!
