Hey, maybe I’m an idiot, but I thought that paying for private registration of a domain name at Network Solutions implied that my name would be kept private. Whoops.
I asked. They answered.
“Please be advised that private registration only masks your who is contact information on the Network Solutions Whois. It is mandated by ICANN that a registrants information be shown on the Who is public database.”
Fair enough, I suppose. But then isn’t the extra few bucks a year for private registration just a flat-out gimmick?
