Now Dick Cheney is distorting a quote in an effort to attack Kerry’s level of seriousness:
“It doesn’t strike me that you can ever think of terror or what it strikes at as a nuisance. That says to me that the individual who entertains those thoughts isn’t as serious as I want my commander in chief to be.”
It’s really incredible that from day one, the major strategy of the Bush/Cheney campaign has been to distort quotes and just try to milk those distortions, day after day after day. I know it can be effective, but man, doesn’t it ever hurt to be that pathetic?
I guess not. If the sidekick of a president who utters lines like this is even willing to bring up the issue of seriousness, anything is possible:
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful. And so are we. They never stop thinking of new ways to harm our country and our people. And neither do we.”
