The Unfuzzy Math

For the last few weeks, the President has been repeating the charge that the Senator from Massachusetts has proposed $2 trillion in longterm spending.

Well, it turns out that those numbers may not be accurate. Oh, and it also turns out the administration’s own figures indicate that the agenda Bush has been laying out since the convention represents in excess of $3 trillion in spending.

Does it matter that Bush is simultaneously being dishonest, hypocritical and ridiculous?

Not unless John Kerry makes it matter.
