The Absentee-Minded Professionals

Absentee voting has historically proven to be a bit more vulnerable to tampering. Criminal cases have been brought for behaviors ranging from forging ballots to changing the votes of patients who live in a nursing home. And this year, things could get worse than ever.

There are two reasons for the increased concern. First, more people will vote via absentee ballot than ever before (six more states allow the process than in 2000). Second, the evenly divided electorate added to these generally sleazy times have combined to make this a golden age for political scumbags.

Concentration is important!
