One side-effect of running as the so-called War President is that one might not get a lot of credit for anything else (which is fine, unless the war is polling poorly). The country’s economic numbers (at least a few of them) have gone up in recent weeks. The President’s approval rating when it comes to managing the economy has suffered a sharp decline. At this point, W might be better off running as the Trade Deficit President.

Man, the decision to strongly link Iraq with the war on terror (now that Iraq is trending south) is also looking pretty suspect when viewed from a Rove-ian perspective.
