If reality television gradually morphs into a genre inhabited by already famous people (or formerly famous ones), will we ultimately lose touch with the original charge of this new art form? Wasn’t the whole point to afford unknowns willing to work for scale the opportunity to humiliate and degrade themselves in exchange for fleeting notoriety? Are we losing touch with our reality values?
