Straight to Parody

At first, the whole William Hung thing was funny. Well sort of. Well, not really, but be a sport. Now, the older the joke gets the bigger the media hype becomes. Is the William Hung story just a sign that society is bored and has a limited sense of humor, or does it represent something altogether worse? Maybe it’s just the natural extension of an entertainment age during which you can become famous for being famous. William Hung has offered a Weird Al version of himself before he ever existed in the first place. Maybe talent just gets in the way.
