Parts of (Freedom of) Speech

A group of performers and major media corporations are petitioning the FCC to overturn their recent ruling that Bono’s unplanned and unscripted use of the F* word (as in “F-ing brilliant”) qualifies as indecent and profane. The FCC had originally let it slide because Bono had used the word as an adjective.

*Note: I use the the phrase the “F word” above to avoid using the word Fuck out of respect to the small children and school field trips that often happen by this site. Besides, I almost always mean it as a verb.
